Arrests after explosives threat in Amsterdam

Police have made a number of arrests in connection with the 'serious threat involving explosives' which led to the evacuation of a number of offices an shops, including the Ikea furniture store, in Amsterdam Zuidoost on Thursday.
Police declined to say how many people have been detained or where they were arrested, reports ANP news service. The homes of those held are expected to be searched later this evening
A concert by the US band The Killers at the nearby Heineken Music Hall has been cancelled because of the incident.
A press conference over the situation is scheduled for 21.15 hours.
