Teenagers arrested for Weesp threats

Wednesday 11 February 2009

Police in Weesp just south east of Amsterdam have arrested three teenage boys for threatening primary schools in the town.

One is 13, another 14. The age of the third boy, arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning, was not made public.

The youths, whose threats caused a great deal of anxiety in the town and led to police stepping up school surveillance, were identified from security camera footage broadcast on a tv crime show on Tuesday night.

Good for the police! They should be prosecuted as adults. Also, they should take the parents into custody for NOT paying better attention to their children.

The 2 boys are now being released into the parent custody, the words uttered were: I am the seriemurderer of Weesp, The Joseph School is in for it ( basically translated. The one boy who said these words live just a few feet from the school and his sister goes to that school. How sick can one CHILD be !?! Now the lawyers are painting them as victims ... what about the children from the threatend school!? They age from 4yrs old to 12 yrs old!

I think to blame the parents is going too far. Let us not get carried away by the Media frenzy. These boys committed a joke but in bad taste - actually typical of the crazy things adolescents do, like for example drinking and driving which more frequent than not turn, in view, into murder. However, how does the media and justice system treat drinking and driving involving teenegers and how have they been televised? Actually in view my view, the 4-12 yrs old children in this school were made victims by the media publicity and the majors letter. If this matter was delt with as with any other threat e.g. terrorism, then the children would have been safe of any trauma.
