Rabobank, Achmea put €1bn into Eureko

The Netherlands’ biggest insurance company Eureko has been given a €1bn capital injection by its two biggest shareholders, Achmea and Rabobank.

Eureko booked a loss of €2.1bn last year, the company said in a statement on Monday.
Eureko is the umbrella holding company for Achmea, Interpolis, Zilveren Kruis, FBTO and Avéro Achmea insurance. The group said in January it would need extra capital.
The company, which will scrap all performance-related bonuses for last year, will publish definitive figures on March 17.
