Health minister to take action on quacks

Alternative healthcare practitioners who make misleading claims or damage their patients’ health are to face tougher penalties, says health minister Ab Klink.

At the moment, doctors can be fined up to €3,700 or given a maximum three months in jail. But Klink wants to make medical negligence similar to manslaughter, with a maximum jail term of nine years or a fine of €74,000, the Telegraaf reports.
