The Groningen cafe De Kachel was fined €1,200 on Friday for repeatedly contravening the controversial ban on smoking introduced last summer, reports ANP news service.
Inspectors warned the cafe that it was breaking the law six times. The court said that the cafe will have to close for a month if it is caught breaking the law again within a year.
