Air France, KLM, Canadian airline deal

Air France, Dutch airline KLM and the Canadian carrier WestJet have signed a declaration of intent to work together with the aim of eventually sharing passenger transport across certain routes, reports the Financieele Dagblad.

This so-called system of code-sharing means that passengers can be flown by other airlines than the one which issued their ticket for parts of their journey.
If the code-sharing deal goes through the Canadian airports of Calgary, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver would be included in the code-sharing agreement, the paper says.
Air France and KLM were merged in 2004.
