Baby passports too expensive: CDA

Families with children aged under 16 will be hundreds of euros worse off because of new European Union rules requiring even babies to have their own passports, the Telegraaf reports on Thursday.
The paper says Christian Democrat MPs are urging the cabinet to take steps to reduce the financial burden by introducing low fees for children's passports.
Until now, younger children could be included in a parent's passport for just €8.50. A new Dutch passport costs around €50.
Many EU countries have already introduced passports for babies and these are compulsory for travel to certain countries.
New passports and ID cards will also have to have two fingerprints from the holder, the Telegraaf says.

yeah, you definitely need passports for babies. Because what if a baby decides to take a flight without its parents, or go on vacation on its own? You can see a lot of thought has been put into this.
