The Netherlands is about to be hit by a flu epidemic, the Volkskrant reports on Thursday quoting the Nivel health research group.

Over the past two weeks, just over one in a thousand people have reported flu-like symptoms to their family doctors, the paper says. The number of children under four who have been taken to the doctor with these symptoms have doubled, the paper says.
