Albert Heijn ‘too dominant’ in some areas
Around 20 people have complained to the competition authority NMa about the way the Albert Heijn supermarket group is dominating some neighbourhoods, news agency Novum reports on Friday.
In particular, consumers in parts of Amsterdam, The Hague and Breda say they have no alternative supermarkets, Novum says.
The NMa told Novum it could not intervene until Albert Heijn’s market share reaches 40%. It is currently around 31%.
