Police to test drivers for illegal drugs

Police forces nationwide have begun trials to test drivers’ saliva for traces of illegal drugs.

The test can identify cannabis, cocaine, heroin and ecstasy, news agency ANP reports.
Drivers found driving under the influence of illegal drugs can be banned from driving immediately. The transport ministry believes drugs have a role in one in five road accidents.
The trials will run for three months.
