Hiv injection trial starts in Groningen

The trial of three men accused of causing grievous bodily harm to a number of others by deliberately injecting them with hiv-infected blood opens in Groningen today.


Peter M (49) and his partner Wim D (48), along with Hans J (39) are accused of drugging a number of men at sex parties and then abusing them.
Several men were also injected with blood. All the three accused men are hiv positive. In total, 14 victims have been identified.
Peter M, a nurse, is also accused of stealing syringes from his former employer, a Groningen nursing home.
According to the NRC, the three face up to 12 years in jail.
