Customs officials seize ‘new’ laptop

Hairdresser Osman Tekin has been told by customs officials to produce evidence that he bought his laptop in the Netherlands not Turkey or he will have to pay tax to get it back, the AD reports on Thursday.

Officials confiscated Tekin’s 18 month old laptop on his way back from his brother’s wedding in Turkey because it looked too new and he did not have a till receipt for it with him.
