A psychiatric clinic in Amsterdam where a 47-year-old schizophrenic patient choked to death in an isolation cell last week is to be closed down temporarily.
Health inspectors said the SPDC hospital facilities in the east of the city are run down and staff are under too much pressure.
Mental health patient choking to death in an isolation cell?
One has to wonder if the diagnosis was correct and if the patient was actually even in the correct type of hospital. Sounds more like the patient had physical problem/s, and possibly in pain that could not easily be explained, which was causing mental health like symptoms ... and the 1st thing many Drs see these days is ... mental health issues ... and then if the patient is lucky they might just actually realise what the real problem is.
Do they do autopsies in Holland, I guess they must, but do they publish them?
