Fewer licenced accountancy firms

The number of accountancy firms that have been granted a licence by the financial services regulator AFM has fallen to 463 this year from 699 two years ago, reports Tuesday’s Financieele Dagblad.

But most of the firms that did not get a licence withdrew their application themselves, the paper reports. The AFM has been responsible for regulating the accountancy sector since 2006.
