Extra government cash for gifted children

Junior education minister Sharon Dijksma is to make €10m available for gifted primary school children, a spokesman confirmed to NOS on Sunday.

Dijksma thinks the current school curriculum is not challenging enough for gifted children. She also feels that politicians have the tendency to concentrate on children who have fallen behind.
The Netherlands has 39,000 children with an IQ of 130, the NOS says.
