Verdonk accuses advisor of fiddling

MP Rita Verdonk is threatening to take her former advisor Ed Sinke to court for making off with tens of thousands of euros raised to fund her new political party TON.

In a letter to party members, Verdonk claims businessman Sinke paid himself and his business partner from party funds while claiming to be working for free.
Sinke, who left TON at the end of May, has reacted furiously to the allegations. ‘Things obviously are not going well with her party and she needs enemies,’ he told Elsevier magazine. ‘There was little money but Verdonk kept on spending anyway.’
