'Dutch firms advertise against Fitna'

Monday 23 June 2008

Dutch companies Friesland Foods (dairy produce) and Zwanenberg (sausages) have taken out adverts in the Jordanian press distancing themselves from Geert Wilder’s anti-Islam film Fitna, the Volkskrant reports on Monday.

The adverts follow calls by a group calling itself The Message of Allah Unites Us, for a boycott of KLM, Philips, Friso and Milupa (baby foods). Until now, the organisation had only urged a boycott of Danish products in connection with the publication of anti-Islamic cartoons.

The organisation has printed millions of copies of a new poster calling on Jordanians not to buy Dutch and Danish goods.

KLM and Philips are actively being boycotted, the Volkskrant says. Last week, all travel organisations in the country were asked to refrain from doing business with KLM, the committee’s chairman Zakaria Sheikh tells the paper.

The Zwanenberg Food Group says in its advert that it ‘rejects the opinions and statements’ made in Wilders’ film, in which he ‘likens Islam to violence’. ‘We strongly condemn these statements about Islam which we think have no other purpose other than to hurt [Muslims].’

Friesland Foods issued a similar statement, the papers say.

I am officially boycotting ALL products manufactured by Friesland Foods and The Zwanenberg Food Group. Boycotts work both ways, and these companies who are so quick to distance themselves from their own countrymen in order to sell goods to a country that supports terrorism and despises all things the Dutch stand for should remember which side their bread is buttered on, no pun intended.

AS ABOVE!! I´M ON BOARD WITH THAT!! There has to be a limit to the sissyness, stand up for freedom of speech. You don´t see them stopping the burning of western flags, talking there own form of hatred do you. I don´t see Dutch courts calling for an arrest warrent of muslim clerics. WHO RUN THERE MOUTHS FULL OF HATE, TEACHING HATE TO CHILDERN!!!

Tim, you are totaly right.

To give up the values of freedom of speech and liberties for some extra euros, we can call it simply dishonnesty.

This companies care just about the benefits and business. They have no principles at all.

This companies should be boycotted by all Dutch peoples who beleive in liberties and freedom of speech ,by not buying them foods .

I would like to know, what all the millions of Muslims have in mind to stop their renegade brothers in Islam.

Better, what have they done in dealing with the mass murders taking place in the name of their same Allah.

So far, I have not seen anything done to curb the violence coming from their neck of the woods.

Taking out adds in support of terrorism, (giving in to terrorism is the same as supporting it) is regrettable and shows lack of character.

I agree we should boycott both of these companies products and we should also boycott the staff who work there. If they want to be part of a company that supports groups who want to extinguish our freedoms of speech and everything else.

For the love of money is the root of all evil and that is again demonstrated by these companies.Just like Islam advertises, freedom go to hell. They might get the freedom of Islam sooner than they expect with that attitude. Keep watching Fitna and listen to the news from north Afrika, central Afrika,Iran, Iraq, middle East, et-cetera. and then compare the film with reality. Right on the button.

Zwanenberg (sausages):

Sausages? Muslims don't eat pork, so are these beef sausages? And, as their meat products must be 'halal' (ritually slaughtered per Islamic law), has Zwananberg been conducting such religiously mandated slaughter? Or have they been selling 'unclean' meat to 'the Muslims'?

Exchoes from Germany 1933 anyone? That country's businesses were also not shy of jumping on the terrorist du jour's bandwagon, sticking their heads in the sand and defending the rats, all in the name of making a few bob...
