Pierre van Hooijdonk conned out of €2.5m

Former Dutch football player Pierre van Hooijdonk admits to the AD on Tuesday that he was conned out of €2.5m.

He invested the money in a Chinese textile company on the advice of his former accountant, but the company does not exist.
Van Hooijdonk is trying to get his money back, along with others conned in the wide-ranging fraud. ‘But I don’t expect to succeed,’ he tells the paper.
