The Salvation Army’s major Alida Bosshardt, who became one of the Netherlands’ most famous celebrities before her death in 2007 at the age of 94, is to have her own museum in Amsterdam.

It will be opened on June 8 by mayor Job Cohen and will celebrate her 60 years of voluntary work among the poor.
