Boys die of resistant flu

Two Dutch boys have died from a flu virus which is resistant to the Tamiflu anti-viral medicine, news agency ANP reports.

The agency quotes health service magazine Medisch Contact which says the boys came from Utrecht and Rotterdam.
Although some 1,000 people die of flu every year, deaths among the young are extremely rare. The government has vast stockpiles of Tamiflu as a first-line defence against a pandemic.
