Wilders rejects Muslim tv offer to show filmSunday 23 March 2008 Anti-Islam MP Geert Wilders on Sunday rejected an offer from the Dutch Muslim broadcaster NMO to show his controversial short film Fitna, reports ANP news service. 'No way, NMO' Wilders is reported as saying. The NMO had asked for the right to see the film in advance of screening to check it does not break the law. Other controversial critics of Islam, such as former Dutch MP Ayaan Hirsi Ali and the murdered film-maker Theo van Gogh, have appeared on the Muslim tv channel. Wilders plans to show his 15-minute film on the internet before April 1. However, on Saturday, website host Networks Solutions suspended the fitnathemovie.com website after receiving unspecified complaints about its contents. In a statement, Network Solutions said it was investigating whether the site’s contents broke its ‘acceptable use’ policy. The company’s terms of service include a ban on material that is ‘obscene, defamatory, libelous, unlawful, harassing, abusive, threatening, harmful, vulgar… hate propaganda… profane, indecent or otherwise objectionable material of any kind or nature’. Wilders has said his film will show the Koran to be a fascist book which incites violence. © DutchNews.nl Get the DutchNews.nl newsletter in your mailbox: Click here to subscribe
If it is a joke, I would find it extremly amusing. I just hope it is... By Victor | March 25, 2008 12:07 PM Why does this get media coverage? There is no movie!!! If this movie exists, why does Wilders reject opportunities to have it shown? Isn't that why people make movies, so other people can watch them? Anytime someone wants to see this movie, Mr Wilders tells them no. When Wilders finally admits there is no movie, I'll be laughing so loud that you'll be able to hear me laughing in Tehran, and I live in Amsterdam. By Tim Lee | March 25, 2008 1:45 PM Certainly Mr. Wilders has a movie. In a true democratic society, Political leaders should condemn those threatening violence to its public and one of their elected representatives rather than "throwing him under the bus." Shame on this "selectively" liberal culture. By bet | March 25, 2008 4:02 PM Let us see this film finally , we are not afraid of that clown . What good could come out of him or his film ?? Wilders is provoking because he knows nothing else. By Raja Chemayel | March 25, 2008 9:03 PM the only fools are those that refuse to hear what islam teaches and the subtle way in which it propagates and deceives people - all of which is mandated by islam and exemplified by its prime role model mohammed. 'there are none so blind as those that will not see.' By gerard flynn | March 27, 2008 1:23 PM I've seen the movie. It accurately quotes Suras and juxtapositions them on a split screen with video, much of it taken by Muslims, with those Suras. If anything, it is an truthful portrayal of the Suras and their execution. (pun intended). And, yes, 'there are none so blind as those that will not see.'
