Staples firm on Corporate Express bid

US office supplies group Staples said on Tuesday it is not planning to increase its €7.25 per share offer for Dutch peer Corporate Express.

The Dutch firm has already described the Staples bid, worth a total €2.5bn, as too low. Staples said it was disappointed that Corporate Express would not negotiate on the offer but is pressing ahead with its takeover efforts.
