PSV a step nearer to football title

PSV Eindhoven came a step closer to retaining the Dutch league title this weekend with a 3-0 victory over FC Groningen.

Second-placed Ajax lost 2-1 to FC Twente on Saturday, seeing its chances of taking the top spot all but evaporate.

PSV are now seven points clear of the Amsterdam club, with only four matches remaining.

In the other matches, SC Heerenveen pulled ahead of Rotterdam’s Feyenoord for third place on goal difference after a 4-3 win over Roda JC. Feyenoord lost 3-2 to its Rotterdam rival Sparta.
