Open source tech firm moves into US

The Dutch open source software specialist Hippo is to move into the US market via the takeover of BlueSunrise in San Francisco, reports ANP news service. No figures were disclosed.
According to consultancy Deloitte Hippo is one of the fastest growing tech firms in the Netherlands and booked a 500% rise in turnover between 2002 and 2006. Its clients include ABN Amro bank, motoring organisation ANWB, publisher SDU en the finance ministry.
Hippo is already active in the UK, Belgium and Italy via partnerships.
