Dog mess is major irritation

Wednesday 26 March 2008

Some 50% of the Dutch think the quality of their neighbourhood is getting worse, with dog faeces named as the most irritating factor, according to research by the national statistics office CBS.

Litter, vandalism and graffiti are other major nuisances.

In another CBS survey, carried out in 2006, the so-called 'ethnic minorities problem' is the number one national concern, cited by 37% of those polled.
The health service and criminality were in second and third place.

This is a thing that has amazed me since I moved to the Netherlands, all the dog faeces everywhere.

Well, it's a simple solution really. You have the dog leash in one hand and the pooper-scooper in the other.
