Brussels prepares for Wilders filmWednesday 05 March 2008 The European Commission has alerted staff at all its diplomatic missions in Islamic countries that Geert Wilders' anti-Koran film will soon be made public, the Volkskrant reports on Wednesday. The foreign minister of Slovenia, which currently chairs the EU, has also held talks with Dutch foreign minister Maxime Verhagen, the paper says. 'This is not just an issue for the Netherlands but for the entire EU,' one diplomat told the paper. Dutch Liberal (VVD) MEPs have urged the European parliament and the Commission to express their solidarity with the Netherlands over the 10-minute film which is due to be screened this month. © DutchNews.nl
Glad that Brussels has not the " look away" attitude!! The world will look down on NL they will loose all respect so is it worth it Mr Wilders?? If you don't like it in your own coutry why are you not leaving and look for the perfect country ..planet?? Good luck !! By Minnie | March 5, 2008 4:32 PM As per Dutch law Mr.Wilder can say what ever he likes. He is obviously looking to be under the spotlight and get his 15 minutes of fame by producing this film. So if every one (including Muslims) ignore him and the film, he will not get what he wants and the commotion will fad-away. By H. Al-Sharifi | March 6, 2008 3:39 AM

I've written on this topic before. With all of the hype surrounding this film (if it exists - I will believe it when I see it), it would almost appear as though people are inviting unrest. If you keep planting the idea that this film is so controversial that it will cause civil unrest, then the mere suggestion may exacerbate the situation. In short - Be careful what you ask for because you just might get it!
