Brussels prepares for Wilders film

The European Commission has alerted staff at all its diplomatic missions in Islamic countries that Geert Wilders’ anti-Koran film will soon be made public, the Volkskrant reports on Wednesday.

The foreign minister of Slovenia, which currently chairs the EU, has also held talks with Dutch foreign minister Maxime Verhagen, the paper says. ‘This is not just an issue for the Netherlands but for the entire EU,’ one diplomat told the paper.
Dutch Liberal (VVD) MEPs have urged the European parliament and the Commission to express their solidarity with the Netherlands over the 10-minute film which is due to be screened this month.
