DSM expects flat earnings this year

DSM expects net earnings this year to be on a par with the €558m booked in 2007, the chemicals group said on Wednesday.

Full-year 2007 figures were just 1% up on 2006 while turnover rose 5% to €8.7bn, the company said on Wednesday.
In particular, the food supplements and performance materials divisions performed well.
‘It is difficult to give a direction in view of current macro-economic uncertainties,’ CEO Feike Sijbesma said, referring to the weak dollar and the high cost of raw materials and energy prices.
