I'm sure the gentleman used his best judgement on road safty issues, plus saved an animals life, thank you for that, it could have been my 25 year old cat!

Is this for real? So does that mean that a person who might cross when the light is green is also at risk of being run down? What about people who sleep at the head of the line? Are we allowed to ram them to get through the light. This country and it's rules..you just never know...

Dear God that is the most absurd thing I have ever heard of in my entire life.

This is so laughable it's beyond comprehension. This is a case of a very poorly recruited police officers lacking in common sense or better yet basic intellegence. I thought this kind of things only happen in the movies.

So the man should have killed an animal because the light turned from red to green? A rather literal interpretation of the law, isn't it? Remind me not to walk anywhere the next time I am visiting the Netherlands. I'm trying to find more info on this as I would like to pay this kindhearted person's fine, so if anyone can help me I'd appreciate it.

This is really funny I thought that people were born with brain, Gosh I cant believe that cops can be so foolish and funny than cartoons! God bless the People who cross the road who knows its could be the last time. I really wish to sue the cops its a Shame on them!!! Bad very bad!!!

This is what happens when you give just anyone a badge and a gun. I wonder what the fine would have been if he had hit the cat? You can not declaw a cat here, but you're supposed to run over them to keep traffic moving. Now I don't feel so bad about that ticket I got for riding my brommer in the fietspad. At least I knew I was breaking the law. I'm sure this poor guy had no idea he was...

Interesting how stupid some humans can be ... what year is it! ... have we progressed at all!?

In a country where they have no problem about wasting so much time, money, fuel, not to mention the environment, and people's health, by keeping traffic stationary for no obvious reason ... other than someone in Government decided to purchase the cheapest 'timed' traffic lights rather than spend a little more on ones that react to traffic need.

So ... what is the Law on stopping if a person walks in front of you as the lights change from red to green, in this country, as I have had this happen to me many a time in the Capital.

Should I main or kill them or stop? What does Dutch Law State?

Wow things have changed in The netherlands,I'm sure a good lawyer can get him out of that fine and award him a great deal more money for anguish caused by this crazy ordeal, then were not tying up traffic for a few minutes but the courts for a few months.
