Conservative appointed new archbishop
Groningen-Leeuwarden bishop Wim Eijk has been appointed the new archbishop of Utrecht by the pope to replace cardinal Simonis. .
Eijk, 54, who started out as a doctor before joining the priesthood, is known as a conservative, reports news agency ANP.
