Social worker cleared in Savanna case
Friday 16 November 2007
The social worker in charge of three-year-old Savanna, who was starved and eventually killed by her mother, has been found not guilty of severely injuring the child.
The public prosecution department took the social worker to court, arguing that she had not done enough to prevent the girl being abused and had ignored advice by other experts to take the girl into care.
The social worker originally faced manslaughter charges.
