'Jet set' academic to be professor of Islam
Tuesday 06 November 2007
Muslim theologist Tariq Ramadan has been appointed the first professor of Islam at Leiden university.
The chair is paid for by the sultan of Oman.
Ramadan is known as a moderate, but critics have accused him of being a wolf in sheep's clothing and of spending too much time jetting around the world giving speeches than doing research, the Volkskrant says.

Exactly who thinks he is a moderate? His father started the Muslim Brotherhood, he has ties with Algerian terrorists, regularly praises terrorist activites and endorses sharia.
