Dutch cats and dogs are fat
According to cautious estimates, 40% of Dutch dogs and 35% of cats are overweight. The statistic is contained in the new animal welfare bill drawn up by farm minister Gerda Verburg.
A campaign aimed at improving pet health is to be launched at the end of this month.
