Foreign car imports up

Last year 78,000 new cars were imported into the Netherlands from other European countries, a 20% increase on 2005, according to newspaper Nrc.next.

Germany and Belgium are the most popular places to buy a new car, with the difference in price reaching several tens of thousands of euros because of high Dutch taxes, the paper says
