Trade unions want faster job for temps

People employed on temporary contracts should be given a permanent job after their contract has been renewed once, trade unions will say during talks with employers on Thursday, reports the FD.

Under current laws on temporary employment, temps can be given three short-term contracts by the same employer before being offered a permanent job.
Unions and employers are due to discuss changes to redundancy law during the talks, under the auspices of the STAR labour foundation.
