Green light for flower auctions merger

The Aalsmeer and Floraholland flower auctions have been given the green light to merge by the Dutch competition authority NMA. The two are currently the biggest and second biggest flower auctions in the world.

The combined group will control 90% of the Dutch and 30% of the European market, ANP reports.
The NMA said the merger would still leave ‘sufficient alternative channels’ on the domestic and foreign markets.
