Postal unions accept TNT job losses
Thursday 14 June 2007
Postal unions say they accept that over 6,000 jobs will have to go at TNT. 'Otherwise the risk is too great that the company will run into trouble,' Abvakabo spokeswoman Anneke Stevens told ANP.
A union-commissioned report by the Boston Consulting Group, published yesterday, said that the company needed to cut spending by over €300m in order to compete with email and new postal delivery firms. Postal delivery workers will be hardest hit by the cuts.
