MPs want new taxi law delayed

A majority of MPs want to postpone the introduction of a new taxi laws, reports the Telegraaf on Monday. The new law on tariffs, due to be introduced on July 1, would mean customers paying a higher basic fare plus a kilometer tariff.

In particular, MPs are worried about the introduction of charges for waiting times, which the tax office will have little control over.
MPs said they wanted to discuss a potential delay with junior transport minister Tineke Huizinga as soon as possible.
