Man jailed for chemical sales to Iraq

Dutch businessman Frans van Anraat was jailed for 17 years for his involvement in war crimes by the appeal court in The Hague on Wednesday afternoon.


The court found Van Anraat guilty of supplying large quantities of chemicals to Saddam Hussein’s regime in the 1980s. these were used to make chemical weapons. Van Aanraat was found not guilty of genocide. Van Anraat was originally sentenced to 15 years in jail in 2005.
