Furniture firm Lundia closes nine branches

The Dutch ‘Scandinavian-style’ furniture group Lundia has closed nine of its 24 branches in the Netherlands and applied for court protection from creditors.


The company blames its financial difficulties on the high cost of raw materials – wood is up to 40% more expensive – and dollar exchange rates, which have cut earnings in the US.
