Firms set up by immigrants rise by 12%

Some 90,000 (second generation) immigrants set up their own companies in the Netherlands last year, a 12% increase on 2005, according to figures from the chambers of trade association.


Some 20% of starters with a foreign background were Polish, most of whom set up building firms, the figures show. One-third of foreign starters were female.
