Essent cuts energy prices
Tuesday 15 May 2007
The Netherlands' biggest energy firm has cut its electricity and gas tariffs for private households and small business customers, in line with pledges made at last month's AGM.
Essent said the average household would see its annual bill cut by €85, of which €10 would be due to cheaper electricity. The price cuts come into effect on July 1.
The reduction will also apply to its 935,000 customers who buy so-called green electricity, Essent said. Essent claims to be the biggest supplier of renewable energy in the Netherlands, accounting for 43% of total production.
