Dutch still positive about EU

Despite their rejection of the European constitution, some 72% of the Dutch are still positive about the EU, according to a new survey by the government’s economic and social policy think tanks published today.

At the end of 2001, 74% thought the EU was a good thing. The SCP and CPB reports also show that only 45% support further expansion of the community, compared with 58% at end of 2001.
Some 55% of those polled said there is not enough about the EU on tv and 33% said newspapers and magazines do not pay enough attention to European issues.
