Máxima is most popular royal

Princess Máxima is the most popular member of the Dutch royal family, with 26% of the population voting for her, a full 10 percentage points in front of queen Beatrix.

In third place is crown prince Willem-Alexander, with 15% of the vote. The survey was carried out among 24,000 people for TV show Eén Vandaag. Some 73% support the continuation of the monarchy.
The survey also showed that six out of 10 people believe Máxima should hand in her Argentine passport if she becomes queen. Máxima currently holds both Argentine and Dutch nationality.
Some 60% of those polled said they had great faith in Willem-Alexander as king, and one-third thought he should only fulfil ceremonial functions.
The Dutch monarch is technically head of the government and plays an active role in the cabinet formation process. Mayors and the commissioners who head the provincial governments are also officially crown appointees.
