Judge universities on inventions, says AWT

Universities should not only be judged on the quality of their research and teaching, but on the way they exploit that expertise, such as by bringing inventions onto the market, says the government’s scientific policy council AWT.


The council stressed that making the most of scientific expertise was not just a question of selling technology to companies. The contributions the arts and social sciences made to the economy and society in general should also be taken into account.
