Rabobank earnings growth 'encouraging'

Cooperative bank Rabobank said on Tuesday that earnings growth was 'encouraging' despite heavy competition for mortgage customers in the Netherlands. The bank did not give financial details but said profit has grown at its international operations for both commercial and private customers.

'Interesting opportunities' remain for the bank abroad, Rabobank said. Last year it took over companies in the US and Indonesia and stakes in banks in Africa and China.
