BAM in South African soccer stadium project

Wednesday 24 January 2007

Dutch construction firm BAM and South African company Grinaker LTA are to build a massive football stadium in Johannesburg, which is to be the focal point of the 2010 World Cup. The Soccer City Stadium will have 94,700 seats – making it far bigger than the Amsterdam Arena.

Work on the €160m project is set to be completed in 2009. BAM and Grinaker LTA are also in the running to build a new stadium in Port Elisabeth.
