MPs have voted not to deport refugees from central and southern Iraq until the situation there improves. Refugees from northern Iraq will still be sent back home. The Netherlands has regarded Iraq as technically safe since January this year even though foreign minister Ben Bot has admitted the security situation in the country is cause for ‘great concern’.
