The man was arrested in the act of stealing fuel at a petrol station in the village, local broadcaster RTV NH reports.
The tank was almost full when the police arrived and fire officials surrounded the area with foam because of the fire risk. The tank was also equipped with a special system to suck up the petrol, RTV NH said.
