Dutch exports to Britain flattened by Brexit despite 10% overall gain
The value of Dutch exports to Britain was virtually unchanged at €39bn in 2017 even though there was was an overall increase of 10% in Dutch export figures last year and an 8% gain in exports to the EU, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.
The price of Dutch exports to Britain was nearly 4% higher last year while sterling declined by 7% against the euro.
While the total value of Dutch exports to Britain remained at the 2016 level, there was a change in the composition of goods. Exports of agrarian products rose by 2.5% to €6.7bn, making Britain the second largest farm products export market, after Germany.
Total Dutch exports reached €469bn.
